Intern — Marketing & Communications

The Marketing/Communications intern will provide administrative support and assistance with all marketing/media initiatives by developing creative content across multiple social media platforms, pitching new marketing and press/media projects, and campaign process/outcome evaluations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative content for social media
  • Expand our online/media presence
  • Monitor social media networks
  • Monitor press clips for coverage reports
  • Market research
  • Develop  media reports & press kits
  • Assist with photo shoots
  • Prepare monthly social media/press reports
  • Pitch/explore ideas to expand marketing presence
  • Updating web site

 

Qualifications

  • Strong writing, editing and research skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in  Photoshop
  • Fluent in social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Yammer, etc.)
  • Experience with  text editing in web templates (Squarespace)
  • Cheerful, friendly, outgoing disposition
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environment
  • Passion for STEM

Work Schedule/Hours:  Flexible (up to 20/hrs per wk)

Start/end Dates: Flexible (with academic/work schedule)

Intern — Graphic Design

The Graphic Design Intern will provide assistance in the planning and execution of both print and electronic media for the Center.  We're looking for someone who can take  both creative initiative and direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, layouts and other designs. 

Responsibilities:

  • Create visual aspects of marketing materials, website, signage and other media, including infographics
  • Consult with Executive Director and Marketing/Communications intern to create cohesive designs that reflect the Center's culture and goals

Qualifications:

  • Adaptive design eye and skills
  • Proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator & PowerPoint
  • Experience with Squarespace templates
  • Basic understanding of HTML and JavaScript
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism
  • Passion for STEM
